Bhaktapur is known for its incredible architecture, with ancient buildings, temples, and monuments that have been standing for hundreds of years. In 1979, Bhaktapur was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique culture and architecture. One of the most popular attractions in Bhaktapur is the Durbar Square, a large public square filled with temples, palaces, and other monuments. Here, you can see the famous Golden Gate, the oldest and most beautiful gate in Nepal. You can also explore the other temples, such as the Nyatapola Temple, the tallest temple in Nepal, or the Taleju Temple, which has been standing since the 15th century. This festival celebrates the victory of good over evil and is celebrated with animal sacrifices and feasts. Dashain is traditionally celebrated over 10 days, during which time the city is filled with colorful decorations, music, and dancing. Whether you’re looking for an adventure in ancient culture, a unique experience in a fascinating city, or just a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Bhaktapur is the perfect destination.
